Pathos AI Teams Up With Bristol Myers Squibb and Tempus AI to Expand AI-Driven Neuroscience Research

Pathos AI has entered into strategic collaborations with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) and Tempus AI to accelerate artificial intelligence-driven drug discovery and development, initially focusing on Alzheimer's disease and other neurological disorders.

Announced on October 23, 2026, the agreements will bring together Pathos AI's computational drug development technology, Tempus AI's clinical data infrastructure, and Bristol Myers Squibb's pharmaceutical research expertise.

Pathos Secures USD 55 Million Data Licensing Agreement

The initiative aims to improve the understanding of neurological diseases and support more targeted approaches to developing potential treatments.

As part of the arrangements, Pathos has signed a five-year data licensing agreement with Tempus valued at USD 55 million. Bristol Myers Squibb will also receive access to Pathos' AI-powered research platform to support its neuroscience programs and broader drug development activities.

Tempus AI to Build Neurological Patient Dataset

Under its agreement with Pathos, Tempus AI will assemble a large-scale, de-identified dataset covering hundreds of thousands of patients affected by neurological diseases.

The dataset will include longitudinal clinical information, enabling researchers to study how neurological conditions progress, identify patterns in treatment outcomes, and examine differences between patient populations.

Tempus intends to apply its existing data collection and analytical capabilities, developed primarily through its work in oncology, to support the expansion of AI-based research into neuroscience.

Pathos will license the resulting dataset for five years under the USD 55 million agreement, providing access to clinical information that can be integrated into its drug development platform.

Pathos Foundry to Analyze Clinical Data

Pathos plans to integrate the neurological dataset into Pathos Foundry, its proprietary agentic AI platform designed to assist pharmaceutical research and clinical development.

The platform uses artificial intelligence to evaluate complex biological and clinical information, develop research hypotheses, and identify potential opportunities for therapeutic intervention.

By analyzing information collected across large patient populations, Pathos aims to identify characteristics associated with disease progression and treatment response. These findings could help researchers select appropriate patient groups and develop more focused clinical trial strategies.

The initiative extends Pathos' existing work in oncology into neurological diseases, beginning with Alzheimer's disease and related conditions.

Bristol Myers Squibb Expands AI Research Capabilities

Bristol Myers Squibb will participate in the collaboration by combining its neuroscience research capabilities with Pathos Foundry and the clinical data provided by Tempus.

The agreement provides BMS with three years of exclusive rights to use the platform in support of specified neuroscience development programs. The pharmaceutical company will also receive non-exclusive access to Pathos Foundry for applications across its broader research and development portfolio.

Through the collaboration, BMS aims to strengthen its ability to evaluate disease mechanisms, identify patient populations, and make more informed decisions during drug development.

Simon Davies, Senior Vice President and Head of Data and Quantitative Sciences at Bristol Myers Squibb, emphasized the potential of combining advanced analytical technology with extensive patient information and pharmaceutical expertise.

The arrangement is intended to support the company's neuroscience research while creating opportunities to apply AI-assisted development methods across additional therapeutic areas.

Pathos Secures USD 237 Million in Series E Funding

The collaborations coincide with a financing round led by Bristol Myers Squibb, reinforcing its strategic relationship with Pathos AI.

In a separate announcement dated October 23, 2026, Pathos reported that it had raised USD 237 million in Series E financing, bringing the company's post-money valuation to approximately USD 3 billion.

The investment will support continued development of Pathos Foundry and the advancement of its oncology drug pipeline. Among the company's development priorities is JSKN016, a TROP2/HER3 bispecific antibody-drug conjugate being prepared for further clinical development.

The additional capital is expected to strengthen Pathos' ability to develop its AI platform, support ongoing clinical programs and expand its technology into new therapeutic research areas.

AI Collaboration Focuses on Neurological Drug Development

The partnership comes as pharmaceutical developers continue to explore how artificial intelligence and large-scale clinical datasets can improve research into complex neurological diseases.

Alzheimer's disease presents significant challenges for drug development because of differences in disease progression, patient characteristics and responses to experimental treatments.

By combining patient-level clinical information with AI-powered analysis, the collaborating companies aim to identify biological patterns that may not be readily apparent through conventional research approaches.

Iker Huerga, Chief Executive Officer of Pathos AI, described the agreements as an opportunity to bring together clinical data, computational capabilities and drug development expertise to advance research into difficult-to-treat diseases.

Tempus AI Founder and Chief Executive Officer Eric Lefkofsky also highlighted the potential for the company's clinical data infrastructure to contribute to research beyond oncology.

The collaborators intend to apply these combined resources to improve the selection of potential drug candidates, refine clinical development strategies and support research into Alzheimer's disease and other neurological conditions.

For Pathos, the agreements establish an additional area of focus alongside its oncology programs while providing Bristol Myers Squibb and Tempus AI with opportunities to expand the use of their respective technologies and research capabilities in neuroscience.
