Perceptive Discovery deploys first Atley C100 module for astatine-211 purification in London, launching US and UK alpha therapy radiopharmaceutical studies

Perceptive Discovery has installed and operated the first Atley C100 module deployed under its collaboration with Atley Solutions, using the automated platform to purify astatine-211 from an irradiated bismuth-209 target at its laboratory within Queen Mary University of London.
The company announced the development on October 16, 2026, stating that it is now accepting inquiries for At-211 development programs at both its UK and US sites.
The Atley C100 is an automated manufacturing platform purpose-built for At-211 radiopharmaceuticals, and its successful operation at the QMUL laboratory is described by the company as the first such deployment within the collaboration.
While the London module handles purification on-site, Perceptive Discovery's US operations are taking a different route to isotope availability. At-211 delivered in solution can be obtained from multiple US sources, which the company says allows it to begin supporting American studies immediately with confidence in isotope supply.
A second Atley C100 module is expected to be installed later this month at the company's Needham, Massachusetts, facility, extending the dedicated At-211 infrastructure beyond the UK.
At-211 is an emerging alpha-emitting radionuclide with significant potential for targeted radiopharmaceutical therapies, but Perceptive Discovery says limited access to specialized infrastructure and radiochemistry expertise has held back broader development in the field.
With the announcement, the company becomes the first US provider able to execute At-211 studies. Sponsors can now draw on At-211 radiochemistry expertise and infrastructure alongside the company's wider preclinical and translational radiopharmaceutical development capabilities.
The service offering combines At-211 access with internal radiolabeling experience across proteins, peptides, and small molecules. Multiple precursor chemistries are available, including boronic acid, boronic ester, tributyl tin, and trimethyl tin approaches. Analytical characterization is performed using radio-iTLC and HPLC-based methods.
Beyond radiochemistry, the offering integrates preclinical imaging, biodistribution, dosimetry, efficacy testing, and translational development capabilities with the dedicated At-211 infrastructure provided through the Atley Solutions collaboration.
Ben Murphy, chief executive of Perceptive Discovery, said the ability to execute At-211 studies across UK and US operations represents an important expansion of what the company can offer sponsors developing targeted alpha therapies.
He described the installation and successful testing of the first Atley C100 module as an important milestone in the collaboration with Atley, noting that combining At-211 access with established expertise in radiochemistry, in vivo imaging, oncology models, dosimetry, assay development, and translational radiopharmaceutical workflows helps sponsors generate the decision-ready data needed to advance programs toward the clinic.
Milton Lönnroth, chief executive of Atley Solutions, said the availability of these systems marks an important next step in the partnership, adding that establishing dedicated At-211 infrastructure in the US and UK expands access for developers and helps create the foundation needed to advance the next generation of At-211 radiopharmaceuticals.
According to the announcement, the successful deployment of the first module at QMUL, together with the planned second installation at Needham, provides a basis for expanding dedicated infrastructure to support the growing number of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies exploring At-211-based targeted alpha therapies.
Atley Solutions is a global leader in commercial products and services for the development and manufacturing of At-211 radiopharmaceuticals. Alongside the C100 automated manufacturing module, the company provides radiopharmaceutical development services and targetry for At-211 manufacturing.
Perceptive Discovery delivers advanced preclinical and translational solutions designed to help sponsors generate the evidence needed to move promising therapeutics toward the clinic. Its expertise spans radiochemistry, in vivo imaging, oncology and CNS models, dosimetry, assay development, and radioligand therapy, supporting development decisions from early discovery through clinical translation.
